Littering
Littering and dumping is a bad problem in the world. Everyone does it at least once. They know the feeling. People litter everywhere and they just don’t care! For example, when visitors walk into a school and they see rubbish everywhere, the first thing that would come to their head is that, the students don’t care, they are lazy and it makes the school look old. Here are a few questions that may not come to peoples mind.
What happens when you litter?
When you litter, you effect the environment. Even though you throw something small, it all adds up. Then this problem becomes a big thing. Imagine if everyone in Australia dropped 2 pieces of wrapper, there would be millions and even billions of wrappers. When someone litters, it could end up in a result of animals dying. Also, when you litter, you don’t really think about what could happen because you only think that it’s a small thing and it’s not going to affect anyone. Honestly, this effect everyone. People only litter because they are too lazy to put in the bin.
What would happen if this problem gets worse in the future? Would it be better or worse?
If this problem get worse, it will really effect the world. More animals will die, the world would become a disgusting place, the environment will have a really bad smell and it will make tourists who come here feel like they want to go quickly never come back. Also, if this problem becomes worse, our population will become smaller and smaller because people will move. People may think that a smaller population is better, and it is. If this happens, there would be less traffic, less criminal problems and things like that. So littering is a bad thing and it effect the animals and things like this, but if the population becomes smaller, it may be a good thing to some.
Who would be effected when you litter?
Many people and animals are effected when you litter or do illegal dumping. Plastic bags are a main problem. Animals are affected because they think that plastic bags are food and then they mistakenly eat them. As a result, animals are dying and becoming really sick. People are affected because people would not want to go outside anymore and it could become a dangerous place to live in.
Why do people litter?
People litter because they can’t be bothered to put their rubbish in the bin. Individuals are too lazy to walk a few metres to get to the bin. If you think about it, isn’t it better to just walk to the bin, rather than effected people around you, animals and the environment. Littering and dumping is just not good enough. Also, people might not want to litter but many people put their rubbish in their pocket and then they forget about it. Then, they run around and the rubbish falls without them realising.
What can we do to stop people dumping rubbish and littering?
We can make signs so that everyone can see them and we can put more security cameras so that there is proof that people do illegal dumping. We can make more expensive fines so that people think twice before they do something that effects everyone. There could be more rubbish bins and there could have stricter rules so that there would be less people doing illegal dumping and littering.
Why does this bother me?
This bothers me because people are dumping rubbish and littering. Having rubbish everywhere makes the Environment look uninviting and very messy. Less people would want to go for walks as there would be horrible smells. The main reason why this problem bothers me is because as people dump and litter things, the wind blows it into the water. Plastic bags are a main issue because it flies around and animals end up eating them thinking that they are food. Every year, animals are dying because they are eating things that aren’t supposed to be eaten. If this keeps happening, it will affect the future. Our community will become polluted and it will cause a bad environment.
In conclusion, littering and dumping rubbish is quite a big problem. Animals will keep dying and the area that we live in now, will become dangerous and disgusting. It is actually quite disappointing to see people doing illegal dumping in the environment. Even though there are signs that say that you are not allowed to dump rubbish. People still do it like they just ignore the signs and everything. People should think before they do thing like this. If we do the following that I wrote about, maybe littering won’t be such big problem.
